Mindful Stargazing with Zen teacher and Astrophysicist Mark Westmoquette

NOW FULLY BOOKED Come along for a truly magical dark skies experience: Mindful Stargazing with Mark Westmoquette to help de-stress, connect with your natural surroundings and be filled with the awesomeness of life and the cosmos. Mark is a former astrophysicist-come-Zen yoga and meditation teacher, and will guide you on a mindful stargazing journey, both indoors and outside, to explore and immerse yourself in the beautiful skies above the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The evening will start inside the Meditation Centre with a Cosmic Body Scan meditation and then we’ll head outside for our Stargazing session. (In case of bad weather, we have a back up slide show that we can project onto the walls of the Meditation Hall). After warming up with a hot drink, you will be guided through a beautiful meditation on Universal Space and Time and, to finish off this wonderful evening, we’ll then further explore the constellations including myths and stories about the stars that have been enjoyed for generations.
Meditation sessions will be seated on chairs or on the floor as preferred (or can be done lying down if you wish to bring your own yoga mat). We will also provide hot drinks to warm up after being outdoors or you are welcome to bring your own flask. Please note: all visitors are required to take off their shoes on entry to the Meditation Hall so you may like to bring some warm socks or slippers.
