Tai Chi Qigong for Beginners workshop with Tony Bennett.
Well being is our every wish and our Wellbeing Wednesday workshops have the purpose of supporting us in this endeavour. To be well, we need a strong immune system. We know the importance of nutrition, exercise, fresh air and emotional balance in ensuring our good health. Tai Chi Qigong adds in another very special dimension: as well as resulting in greater emotional resilience, balance, strength and flexibility, Tai Chi Qigong boosts our energy levels, and enables effective flow of nurturing energy around the body, whilst removing stale, unwanted energy, crucial to a strong immune system and metabolism.
This workshop is aimed at those of us who have no experience of Tai Chi Qigong but are interested in what it has to offer us in supporting our health and wellbeing. The workshop will be accessible to all, whatever your level of fitness. It will introduce you to the principles of Tai Chi Qigong, in theory and practice: the value of good posture and balance, creating alignment; effective breathing; movement from the joints; relating breathing to movement.
At the end of the day, you will take home with you the experience of doing some simple movements and you will be given support materials to enable you can continue to practice at home, where you are interested to do so. On-going workshops at the Dent Meditation Centre will enable you to reinforce and develop this experience.
