Location

The Meditation Centre is in Dentdale – a valley often described as ‘the hidden jewel of the Dales’. It is a place of contrasts – from cobbled streets and old stone houses to open fells, wooded valleys, waterfalls and tumbling streams. Dentdale is in a quiet corner of Cumbria but is also in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Centre is actually on the outskirts of Dent village and its peaceful, poetic location makes it an ideal venue for rest and relaxation. Dent itself is within easy reach of the M6, and the nearest main line station is Oxenholme, the Lake District. Dent Station is four miles east of the village on the Leeds-Carlisle line. If arriving by car, please leave your car in the main car park as there is restricted access by the Centre – see map below:

Accommodation and Food

As the Meditation Centre is non-residential, it has the advantage of people being able to choose their own accommodation and food according to their preferences and means.
There are B&Bs and campsites in the village and a variety of cottages to rent in the dale. For further information see www.dentdale.com and www.discoverdentdale.co.uk. If you wish, local caterers can provide delicious meals at your accommodation.

Lunches:

Meadowside Café and Stone Close Café are ideal for light lunches and are only five minutes walk of the Meditation Centre; alternatively sandwiches and snacks are available at Dent Stores and there are two pub in the village: The George and Dragon and The Sun Inn.
