Josie has been a Trustee at the Centre since 2014 and holds the role of Secretary. Whilst she stresses she is not an expert she is a keen advocate of Meditation and believes that in our busy and sometimes chaotic world it can offer a haven for every individual to find their own space and their own peace. Meditation has helped her during stressful and worrying times in her life and she feels its role in supporting both mental and physical wellbeing cannot be overestimated. When she first visited the Centre at Dent she immediately felt she was in a special place, a place of calm, peace and protection. She is currently self-employed as an educational consultant. Prior to that she was the Director of Arts at Barnsley College and led her Department to an Outstanding grade. She now works as an Interim Manager in FE Colleges and also as a writer and editor filling her spare time with voluntary work. Josie is President of the Association of Managers in Education which is the Leadership and Management section of the ATL Teaching Union. She is Vice-Chair of Governors at a Secondary School and also created and runs Barnsley-based EnRich Charity.
